This project came to be due to the pandemic locking down the country yet another time, making me - and many others - have to change course in regards to our focus of our works. Going from leaving the house almost constantly to being stuck in one place for upwards of four weeks lead to me really digging in and noticing the small details within the place I live. All of the small details within and around the house that show how lived in it is, instead of a sterile environment you can sometimes perceive when you don't take in the small details.

The project takes place in and outside of the house, though sticking to the property that I am living on currently, which is within the Papatoetoe region. The property as a whole has a very overgrown feel to it, both inside and out and I wanted to show this off in my photos wherever possible. Whether in a literal sense, such as a messy room, or in a more vague sense, in regards to living beings within the house.
Photo featuring the kitchen sink, and the wide array of knick-knacks on the window sill.
A photo showing the spices and herbs stacked with utensils and other miscellaneous items.
These photos show a direct contrast between a communal location in the house (left) versus my room (right)
A long exposure featuring my cat relaxing within my bedroom, meaning to show his active and sporadic nature.
A disheveled self-portrait of myself, featuring various items surrounding me.
My cat covered in paper butterflies I had made, seemingly relaxed despite covered in constant bothers.
The front of the house, quite unkempt with a row of not well kept plants and additional knick-knacks to the side.
My cat featuring in front of the very run down looking spa-pool, with the weeds and various plants digging themselves out from between the brick tiles beneath.
